The greasers were poorer than the Socs or the Middle Class. They were wilder, too. When a Socs saw a greaser, they immediately thought dirty troublemaker. If you actually got to meet them most of them were nice, kind, caring people. They loved to hang out in gangs, but their kinds of gangs were a group of friends. Their gangs were like their families. The Greasers gangs were always there for them and cared about each other, they always had each other’s backs. “You take up for your buddies no matter what they do. When you’re a gang, you stick up for the members. If you don’t stick up for them, stick together, make like brothers, it isn’t a gang anymore. It’s a pack.” P33.
