The book and movie, “The Outsiders”, have many similarities. One main similarity is the plot. Throughout the book the and the movie the rising action is Ponyboy, Johnny, and Dally going to the movies and meeting Cherry and Marcia. Another important event is when Johnny kills Bob at the park, the main conflict. As in the book’s and the movie’s falling action Johnny dies in the hospital and Dally gets shot by the police. The most important part of “The Outsiders” ,the plot, stays the same throughout both the book and the movie. However, the book and movie have a large amount of differences. One difference includes at the beginning of the book Ponyboy gets jumped after going to the movies alone. While the movie begins with a foreshadowing of Pony writing his essay. A second difference between the book and movie is when Pony, Johnny, and Dally are in Dairy Queen in the book and are in the parking lot of Dairy Queen in the movie. Another very important difference in the movie from the book is that Pony doesn’t get sick after Johnny’s death and have histeria. The previously stated differences are only a few, but I don’t have enough space on this computer to state all of them. A few other minor details that are different are Dally’s hair color, how the boys get into the church, some dialogue, and other
