The assistant coach did not accompany the players on the flight with the athletic directors or anyone. He was traveling on the road. After the plane crash, he was in quite the shock. Tom, Reggie, and Nate experienced the loss of their friends, teammates, and captains. They experienced a shock which most young, college students would not have to go through. Reggie and Nate were both injured which prevented them from traveling on the airplane. Tom, on the other hand, overslept and missed his flight. As they all experienced the shock, some went through intense anger, guilt, and depression. Nate experienced anger as he lost some of his closest friends and teammates. He also experienced depression. Tom felt the guilt towards himself. He blamed himself for not being on the plane just because he overself. Tom had anger and guilt towards himself. It also included depression, but it was mainly the guilt and anger.
In conclusion, as most of the actors and actresses experienced depression and shock, some may had experienced more or more in depth. Grief is not something that can be controlled and it may take a short or long period of time. The amount time a person needs to recover from grief truly depends on the person and how they will react to it. Many individuals went through at least one stage of grief, if not more. Each individual is different and that was proven with the type(s) of guilt they went
