The novel Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coates is a beautiful piece with a poetic flow resembling both a memoir and a letter. This novel holds a powerful and important stance about the existence and underappreciation of black bodies throughout American history and present day America. Coates uses this novel to inform his son of the trials and tribulations a black man in America faces. The goal of this novel is for Coates son to use his father's journey as a tool to simplify his sons path.
