Jesus, in this film, was depicted in a way that was unique to the other films viewed in class. A factor that made this Jesus unique was how the audience only had a peripheral view of Jesus. That is, the story was not centered on the life of Jesus, but, rather, Jesus played a secondary role. The portrayal of Jesus in such a manner gave him a distanced feeling for his character. Since no details were given about his life, he stood almost in the same position as Tiberius Caesar did in this film; as an untouchable authority, living in another plane of existence far away from the main character.
