People also praise this book for showing a world where everyone is not the same. This book is intended for children 3 and older. I learned that this author wrote this book for her son Noah, who is the youngest of three and who also has Down Syndrome. Schnee noticed that there was not any books that positively represented her son so she made it her mission to change that. She has published a few other books based on her son Noah. This book is also beneficial to our society because it a fairytale whose main characters are boys and they are princes. I think this book is important for 21st century readers for many reasons. For starters, it breaks away from the stereotypical idea that fairytales have to be girl books or the main character has to be a girl. The book’s main character is a boy with a disability and instead of focusing on what he cannot do or the disability itself, the book focuses on what he can do in a creative and imaginative way. A recent study by the CDC says that one in every six children have some sort of intellectual or developmental disability. In other words, there are a lot of kids how some sort of disability. I thought it would be easy to find how many children's books published in the last 10 years show children with different disabilities. I was wrong, it was really hard and I never found a definite answer. However, I did find that each year more and more books are being published that show some sort of disability in a positive way.
