Good evening, Judges, Teachers, Parents, and Students. Tonight we start off this great debate with the first affirmative speech. Allow me to ask you this. Should the United States Armed Forces deploy on their home front to assist in a country-wide pandemic? You’re probably thinking, “
What does that mean?” This means, should we, the American people, allow our own soldiers to police our populous in the event of an epidemic. As the first affirmative it is our job to argue this topic as pro. This is a moral question, do we want our troops to secure, contain, and protect America and her citizens during a hazardous and highly contagious virus outbreak? We say yes. In the disastrous event of a disease outbreak, medical centers will be full to capacity, police officers spread thinly to maintain order among the chaos, and all emergency

This would mean that all civil liberties will be suspended and the U.S.A.F. will assume control of America. This given authority to the military would mean that they would have the power to dictate, control, set curfews, and even shoot on sight unauthorized individuals entering an area or outside during curfew hours. Granted martial law sounds terrible, but for the greater good the American people should allow this action during the event of a contagious disease such as, Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever. In short, should we give authority to America’s military or shan’t we and delve into the high risk of spreading a disease through police, medics, and other emergency personnel, without the aid of our soldiers? Should we secure, contain, and protect, our children, families, friends, pets? Just think of it, your child who is suffering from this unknown disease that
