The short story, “The Ransom of Red Chief” by O. Henry, would be very different if it was from Red Chiefs point of view. Red Chief really didn’t know he was being kidnapped, but he was happy to get away from home and school. Red Chief said, “‘I like this fine. I never camped out before’” (Henry 72). This shows that Red Chief was having a blast and he didn’t want to leave. When Red Chief was playing cowboys and Indians with Bill, he was also having a blast, riding on his back and playing around.
