The middle passage was a journey which took place during the year of 1440-1640. It was known by trading basically slaves were been taken in ships to other countries to drop them off and make them work as slaves. It was a triangular journey. The slaves were being traded from Africa to the US and from US to Africa in the beginning of the slave trade. The slaves were on the ships for about 2-3 months straight there were no stops during the journey. The ship lacked of hygiene which caused to start a disease on the ship. The disease was so bad that it made the slaves weak and unable to work, eat or drink.

The ship was full of slaves being transported, there wasn’t enough space for the slaves to sleep. Most of the rooms on the ship were full of blood. The lack of space on the ship resulted on the slaves not able to sleep properly. The slaves didn’t get enough sleep because that was on the ship which killed some of the slaves and all of the other slaves weak and unable to work. The slaves were being traded like a big bag of flour. The blood on the ship cause flux it’s also known as intense diarrhea. If the disease killed any of the slaves on the ship their body would be thrown in the ocean which the rest of the slaves feared about.
