As the abusive husband beat his wife, in front of their son, who had just lost his left foot, I wondered why man was displayed so negatively. This rendition showed little red not as innocent as before. She carries a bottle of liquor instead of butter, a knife, refers to her native people as rustic clowns, and has a sexual appetite superior to the wolfs’. It felt like she had tamed the beast, but he called her his pet and could command her to eat his lice if he wanted. Was this a sign of her devotion and love?
