Gentrification has never become more of a concern in the Bay Area more than it has right now. Gentrification is when rich companies or neighbors move into the area with offers to improve the community but result in a flux of rising cost in the area making the current inhabitants unable to live in their homes. The Bay Area is historically known for its diversity and culture that has made them a strong community that many wish to be a part of. More and more people move to San Francisco everyday wanting to be a part of this community and are willing to pay an immense amount of money to do so. The place they have called home for all their lives has changed and not for the better. People don’t recognize or even talk to their neighbors anymore because the neigh inhabitants don’t seek community they seek business and efficacy in their life. These people have driven out nearly all of the previous inhabitant that all culture and trace of the area’s history is all but disappeared. An important piece of information about gentrification in the bay area is that tenants can get evicted by no fault of their own, but due to changes landlords make to the property.
