People often say our curiosity and greed can get the best of us, as humans it’s normal to be curious, but greed is definitely an ego thing. In the two stories “The sound of thunder” and “Juristic Park” shows a lot of greed from different characters, for example. In The Sound of Thunder, there's a wealthy man who pays to go on a time-traveling safari to hunt a dinosaur. Travis, the guide, warned Eckele’s (the wealthy man) to not step off the path, because it could alter the course of history. Eckeles got spooked and stepped off the path, causing their future to change. Eckele took on more than he thought he could handle, causing him to be killed. In the movie Jurassic Park, John Hammond, the billionaire, made a theme park full of lab-made dinosaurs.
