St. Pius X High School is diving down to the bottom of the sea, to perform, The SpongeBob Musical. With well timed jokes, vibrant colors, and a tale of an unexpected hero, this take on the famous television show was a delight to watch.

The SpongeBob Musical was first performed at the Oriental Theatre in Chicago and made its way onto Broadway. The Nickelodeon produced musical was nominated for multiple awards, tying with Mean Girls for the most nominations for a production at the 72nd Tony Awards. Based on the popular television series, SpongeBob SquarePants, the production follows the story of how SpongeBob and his friends come together to stop their town, Bikini Bottom, from being destroyed by a volcano eruption.

The cast as a whole portrayed their roles with energy that carried the play along well. The cast and crews work and effort was evident throughout the play, with the energy and detail increasing as the show went on. And the ensemble, with well timed entrances and a lively stage presence, assisted the performance effectively.

The accent she put on during the show was indistinguishable from the original. On top of that, her display of her character's split decision of leaving or staying in her town added a layer of emotion to the production. Another stand out performer was Megan Rola as Pearl Krabs. Her melodious voice made her stand out in the songs she took part in. Em Roachs comedic role as Patrick Star, stood out with her spot on portrayal of the well loved character.
