Have you ever wondered what racism was like in the Civil Rights era? The civil rights era took place during the 1950s and 1960s for African-Americans to gain equal rights under the law in the United States. African Americans had had more than enough violence against them. They, along with many whites took part of protests to avoid African-American’s discrimination. This discrimination existed mainly in southern USA. The stories that are going to be compared in this essay are “The Summer Things Fell apart” and “Letter from Neshoba County jail”.
