Connections and similarities can be found throughout Ray Bradbury’s “The Veldt” and the non-fiction article “A Parent's Struggle”. Both the main theme, and the reactions that occur can be compared in both pieces of text. In “The Veldt”, the parents use technology as a babysitter, the Happy Life Home was specifically made to make the parents lives easier, a tool to feed, clothe and watch the children. The Happy Life Home can be compared to the iPad in “A Parents Struggle”. In the article the mother uses the iPad to keep her six year old child entertained and quiet. Both parents also make excuses for why they allow their children to use so much technology. In The Veldt, George and Lydia think the nursery is a good emotional outlet for the children,
