Have you ever wondered why technology can be bad for parent and child relationships? Technology can negatively impact children and parent relationships in many ways. It can lead to fewer interactions and can also bring about poor nurturing skills and seeing your parents as having a less crucial role in your life. In the short story “The Veldt,” the parents spent thousands of dollars on their house to do everything for their kids, from tying their shoes to putting them to sleep. This led to the children rebelling against their parents due to the lack of guidance they got from them. Technology is unhealthy for family relationships, as seen in “The Veldt” by Ray Bradbury.

I have seen families where parents rely on modern devices and technology to keep their families entertained. This can decrease the amount of face-to-face interactions and quality time. Technology can hurt family ties because of the lack of time spent together. In “The Veldt” a physicist comes and talks about how he thinks the nursery has replaced the responsibilities of the parents. You’ve let this room and this house replace you and your wife in your children’s affections. This room is their mother and father, far more important in their lives than their real parents"(Radbury).
