In the book Night by Elie Wiesel the Nazis used many methods of dehumanising the Jewish people. All of the methods they use are cruel and crimes against humanity. The ways the Nazis dehumanized the Jews were branding them with a number and symbol, The Jews were to have a forced appearance at all times, Nazis treated the Jews as cattle, and placing the Jews in different camps based on appearance. The definition of dehumanization is “Dehumanisation or dehumanisation describes the denial of “humanness” to other people.” The first way the Nazis branded the Jews with a number of different ways. The Nazis transported the Jews by trains that were meant for transporting cattle. The Jews were forced out of their homes and moved from one camp to another like they were transporting cattle. The Jews were treated as cattle from 1940-1945 when they were released or unfortunately died.
My final example of how the Nazis dehumanized the Jewish people was that Nazis transferred people all around going from camp to camp to be tortured. The Nazis had many concentration camps, some bigger than others and some worse than others. No matter what it was a living hell for everyone that was put into a concentration camp. If you were on your way to Auschwitz you must stop at Buna, the reception center for Auschwitz.
