Assault and Battery are two similar but confusing terms. Assault is an intentional threat, show of force, or movement that could make a person feel in danger of physical attack or harmful physical contact. It's either crime or tort. (Hall, 2016). A personal example would be where a bully was threatning to beat up my son if he didn't give him some expensive shoes. When I went to talk to the principle I used the specific word Assault and told them I would press charges if he continued.
