Finding Truth A Famous Pioneer leader once said ‘” To meet the difficulties that are coming, it will be necessary for you to have knowledge of the truth of the work for yourselves. …If you do not you will not stand. The time will come when no man nor woman will be able to endure on borrowed light. Each will have to be guided by the light within himself”’ (Whitney and Lind). Something I learned very quickly on my mission was that’s vitally important to have your testimony. You will constantly be questioned whether or not your beliefs are factually correct or if you have evidence to back up everything you have faith in. One important thing I learned while reading this article “Things Not Seen” by Don Lind is that you can be highly educated in scientific matters, and yet have a strong testimony. “He need not be ashamed of his testimony, and he need not compromise his intellectual standards when he considers the gospel” (Lind) …show more content…
Most religions are based off of intangible things such as faith and revelation (Lind). So how are we to know which one is right, or more correct per se? Something Don Lind talk about in this article is that constantly we are told science is more high-ranking or better than religion because with science we can do experiments to understand its data. Science is prejudice in this way because you can choose in terms of data that is available or better known as the scientific method
