Thomas Paine’s, Common Sense, broke the political system for the America’s to inflict such brutality. The book sold more than 100,000 copies in only a few months. The book also helped support Independence in America. In Philadelphia, Continental Congress was on the verge to break ties with England. The summer of 1776, they formed a committee to draft the Declaration of Independence. On July 4th, two days later, the Declaration of Independence was approved. There were just some things not worked out with King George of Britain to gain full independence. The rebels use “He” as a reference to King George. "He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing importance, unless suspended in operation till his assent should be obtained; and, when suspended, he has utterly neglected to attend to them." King George should pass all laws, if any certain kind of laws are brought to the assembly, they should be suspended. He does not want an Americans to pass any important laws. The King has to sign off on any law before passing any. He would ignore the fact that there were laws, waiting on him to approve for an extended amount of time.
