Three More Words was a very interesting book. It went through everything a kid shouldn’t have to go through. This author does a very good job at explaining what she went through and how she overcame some of her obstacles.
First the book starts with how Ashely got into the foster care system with her brother, Luke. She was in the foster care system until she was 18 years old. Then she moved in with a family, the Courters. The Courters helped Ashley throughout when she was going through rough times. Ashley had a eating disorder and she could only eat certain foods. This brace thing helped her so she didn’t overeat at meals. If something didn’t feel good on the brace, she could go into the doctor and getting it refitted. This brace really helped Ashley when she went on trips and when she went to ceremonies where she had to give speeches. After awhile Ashley really seen a difference, and changed her eating habits.
Once Ashley got a little older, she got asked to go around and give speeches at ceremonies and places like that. After she was doing that for awhile, she met this guy, Erik. Ashley and Erik had a past but it didn’t work very good so they thought they should see it would happen again. Well this went on for awhile and finally they got married. Once they got married they started to get foster kids that their parents didn’t want them or their parents were their for them. They took in a lot of little kids that had all type of illness.
After of trying and trying Ashley and Erik had a little boy. Ashley had so many miscarriages, that they didn’t know if they would actually have a baby. After the little boy got older, their little family went on a vacation to see Ashley’s real mom. This didn’t go over as well as Ashley thought it would go.
