In Thurgood Marshal’s speech “Reflection on the Bicentennial of the United Sates Constitution” was an argument against the celebration for the founding fathers and the document that was written by them to construct our constitution today. This argument is effective because Marshal specifies that the Constitution was flawed because without a civil war and amendments we wouldn’t have the freedom that we have today. This speech is so unique because it describes how we celebrate the Constitution and the founding fathers without ever thinking about what America was envisioned to be in 1787.
