When America has a high tide it’s because it is facing the moon which has a lower gravitational pull, but the moon is closer to the Earth. My sun earth and moon relationship occur because of the gravitational pull of the sun and moon are greater than when it is just the moon. The moon has the most effective gravitational pull on the earth. There are many cyclic patterns for tides. One is the semidiurnal tidal cycle. This is characterized by two high tides daily of about 12 hours are 25 minutes apart mainly on the east coast. Also, there are mixed tidal cycles where there are also tides that occur twice daily but the high and low tides are different in size mainly on the west coast and Alaska and Hawaii. Neap tides happen during the first and third quarter and spring tides happen during the new and full moon. The earth’s rotation around the sun is 365.256 days. The moon’s rotation around the earth is from 27 to 29 days. Gravity’s role in my sun-Earth-moon relationship is the earth’s gravitational pull keeps the water on earth. The moon, however, is big enough and close enough that its gravitational force has a noticeable effect on large bodies of water on earth. The sun’s gravitational pull causes solar tides and has a big effect on lunar tides mostly when the sun
