9 November 2015 Tidying Day and Night How would it feel to clean, clean, and clean some more? Many American women address the dilemma of housework as unevenly distributed between genders. Feeling this impetus, author Jessica Grose, composed “Cleaning: The Final Feminist Frontier.” Grose debates men have become considerable caretakers, but the majority sweeping and tidying of dwelling is still bruising women today. Grose initially forms her validity with intimate information and renowned claims, stating credible facts and statistics, and successfully applying passionate pathos. To help the general public imagine the the regular requirements of a housekeeper, Grose goes on and recalls the housecleaning with her husband while confined inside during cyclone Sandy, and by designing this scenario she helps the audience envision the distribution of housework and illustrate this as an extensive complication occurring with many others of her gender. The scale of “who cleans and who does not” is almost always heavier on the female’s side of the balance. To help try to describe this phenomena she states that the following contributes to this disbalance: credit for a “perfect house” is handed to women, advertisements usually pose women as the cleaners, and men find cleaning in general, not the best experience. These symptoms lead to the general disease described as “unfair distribution of housework.” While there is no cure in many households the following are a possibility: making a graphic organizer, dividing the work using skill level and abilities of the people working, making gadgets to help relieve human operation, or just accept the disheveled residence as it is. A couple examples are Judith Treas and Tsui-o Tai (sociologists by career), a study conducted by the University of New Hampshire, and Brand Manager of P&G North America Fabric Care, Matthew Krehbiel . Grose uses the citations to these writers to build a foundation for her thesis, and by using the piece of writing that are not her own she shows that her argument is accepted by society or she is using ethos. Ethics are shown because her argument is not just a thought in the air, but people already consider housing keeping normally as a woman's job, but there is also a side which does not consider this fair and her citation are a great example. This shows that the author has done her research, and has given valid information, as well as expert opinions, of other authors to support her claim.
