Power is to have control over another person to push the to do something they do not really care to do.In the book ”To Kill a Mockingbird,”Tom gets shot for being accused of rape which he did not do. After they overlooked her class and gender they saw she was white which made her get away with lying. As soon as they saw that she was white they did not care if she made up some crap she was correct and they would never let a black man go away innocent compared to a white. As a result of their actions and letting her lie Tom Robinson got put into jail and tried to escape later own, but failed when he got shot trying to go over the gate . He then was ever so much like a mockingbird innocent but killed for things he could not
