One character that courage has a huge impact on is Atticus Finch. "For a number of reasons," said Atticus. "The main one is, if I didn't I couldn't hold up my head in town, I couldn't represent this country in the legislature, I couldn't even tell you or Jem not to do something again." (Lee 100) Atticus has to be brave for The whole town of Maycomb because then he would have no authority. If Atticus didn't have courage he wouldn't be the powerful man he is to the town. Accepting dares could end up being a bad idea because even if you have courage you can still get injured. Some of the things Jem did got him into some bad situations.
