To Kill A Mockingbird Life Is Unfair

Death. It can get in the way of things. People die every day for the utmost unfair things. In the novel “To Kill a Mockingbird”,by Harper Lee, there are a ton of unjust events that take place. Much like killing, abuse, discrimination, and numerous others. These things that happened in the book do occur in real life today and can teach a great lesson. Just one of those many great lessons to be taught is that life isn’t always a fair place. For instance, in this book there is a colored man named Tom Robinson. Now Tom was called upon as a rapist. The white man known as Burris Ewell portrayed Tom as the man who raped his daughter, Mayella Ewell. In this dispute Tom was sentenced to have to go to court. As Tom was defended by Atticus Finch he was proven to the people to be not guilty, but with the racial discrimination Tom was sent to jail. This was extremely unfair because Tom was definitely not guilty. This “rapist” act was actually a seducing act by Mayella to Tom, which ended with her father beating her for it. This beating of Mayella could also be treated as an unfair form of life,so it can be a learning moment too. …show more content…
In the book there are many other examples of unfair life besides the whole trial case. One of those examples is about a young boy with the name of Jem Finch. Jem is the son of Atticus Finch,who was Tom Robinson’s lawyer in the rape case. Jem ends up getting in a tussle with Burris Ewell because Mr.Ewell seeked revenge on his dad by hurting him. Basically Mr.Ewell tries to murder Jem and ends up breaking his arm.Jem doesn’t die however, because he is saved by their neighbor known as Arthur Radley or just his nickname,Boo. Still, he gets his arm broken for just about no reason, so therefore is just some unfair act that is a life lesson to Jem and the others that know about
