Harper Lee expressed the event of the mob, an attempt to kill Tom Robinson, an on trial black man,” Every mob in every little Southern town is always made up of people you know- doesn't say much for them, does it?” (Lee 159) Mobs still happen all the time in today’s society. They try to show a certain opinion and want something done. In this case, they wanted Tom dead. But is this a good idea to show your opinion? Another example from the novel is when the black community sent Atticus food after the trial ended,”Calpurnia said,’Tom Robinson’s daddy sent you along this chicken this morning’” (Lee 217) This is another
