Boo was the only one that heard Scout and Jem scream on the night that Bob Ewell attacked them. Had it not been for him, they would not have seen the light of day. That is not the only time that Boo has been of help to his kids. On the cold night that Ms. Maudie’s house caught flames Scout and Jem were out in the freezing cold with nothing to keep them warm.
