The Scottsboro trial is something that is seen being the inspiration for Harper Lee’s novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird”. The trial took place within Lee’s childhood, where Mayella plays the role of Victoria. The South wasn’t the greatest spot for the African American community to grow up nor live. Many were accused of crimes they were nowhere near capable of committing.Life was difficult and hard to follow. Accusing the black males of rape and coming up with a story to back it up the two females think they have the story sealed within the trail.
As the girls are being persecuted both in the real life story and the novel they seem to have everything down. Not only that, but quickly their story begins to sound very unlikely. They are also different
