President Abraham Lincoln was the person who signed the emancipation proclamation. I argue that Lincoln was the one who was responsible for it. He did have a lot of influence.

Lincoln liked the idea of taking the enemy’s slaves and freeing them. His thoughts were that there was a lot of good things to come out of the emancipation. The former slaves have a lot to do with the emancipation, such as Frederick Douglass. He and many other black men and women had a big hand in the emancipation. They helped and urged Lincoln to set all enslaved people free.I believe Lincoln was the most responsible because he was very religious and he thought that everyone should be united and not only because it was wrong, Lincoln said it was good for war measures.
