At about 9:30 the hijackers attacked and took over the plane. Todd thought to call his wife but didn't want to scare her so decided not to. He called a woman named Jefferson and stayed on with her the whole flight. While the plane was going down he said The Lord’s Prayed with her. The men on the plane then decided to go to the cockpit and try and take control of the plane. Finally he told Jefferson “If I don’t make it, please call my family and let them know how much I love them.” Then he set the phone down and went to the men. “Are you ready? Okay. Let’s Roll!” (American National Biography Online: Beamer, Todd Morgan). The plane went down, crashing into an empty field in Shanksville. It is said that the passengers of Flight 93 prevented the plane from hitting the White House or another destination.
