Making of tombstones

Headstones are known by many names, such as memorial stones, gravestones, and tombstones. All of these apply to the function of memorization of the deceased loved one . Headstones were originally made from pieces of wood.Archaeologists have found bodies in caves with boulders covering the openings. Various other methods of burial were introduced as time moved on. Coffins were used that contained dead bodies . Cremation was also a popular method of disposing of the dead. These burial rituals went on until cemeteries continued to spread disease.
Early headstones were made out of slate. Then came marble, but after time the names and particulars of the deceased on the marbles were indecipherable. After some

All stones were machine polished and then finely detailed by hand.
Manufacturing process:
The first step is to choose the type and color of the stone. Then the stone is cut from the bedrock. There are three ways of doing this. These include drilling,Jet piercing and Water jet piercing .This employs water pressure to cut the granite. The last one consists of 2 systems low pressure and high pressure.
Then Workers take large drills tipped with steel bits and drill horizontally into the block of granite. They paper-wrapped blasting charges are placed into the holes. Then block makes a clean break from the rest of the rock.
Granite blocks usually weigh about 9,185 kg. Then Workers drill hooks then a truck transports it to the headstone manufacturer and sell them .After arriving there, the granite slabs are unloaded onto a conveyor belt and are cut into smaller slabs. This step is done with the help of a rotary diamond saw.

These pads have tin oxide powder on them to get the stone polish the stone to a smooth finish.
The polished slab is then moved to the hydraulic breaker that is equipped with carbide .This makes a vertical cut through the

A liquid glue is applied to the headstone. It is then covered with a carbon-backed layout of the design The worker then exposes the design features to the sandblasting. The sandblasting is done in an enclosed area due to the dangers of the process. Dust collectors save the dust for reuse.
The stone is sprayed and polished , then packaged to protect the finish. The package is shipped to the funeral director.

Quality control strategies: Each slab is checked for color consistency.. If a stone is found damaged,it is taken away.
Waste:
Drilling produces the most waste. The water jet method produces the minimum amount of dust. It enables the water to be recycled. In sandblasting waste is reused .Defective granite stones are exported overseas. Some of them are discarded
The Future plans:
There are many new techniques in upcoming development that will allow more intricate designs to be put on the tombstone.
Thus gravestone rubbings are a great way to preserve a bit of history. And it's quite easy to get started.
Thus summarizing the whole process :
Check tombstone rubbings in your local cemetery. Then
Assemble the items needed..After this select a suitable
