I attended a three day Tony Couch watercolor workshop, my first ever, at the Honey Bowen Building, about 1/4 mile from the GSU campus in Statesboro. Tony Couch attended University of Tamp for his art degree and also studied at the Pratt Institute in New York. Couch is a realest style painter, he primarily paints old barns, scenes from nature, and older boats. Couch does include figures in some of his work, however he does not do portraits. Couch basis his teachings around a few simple, simple after years of practice, techniques and design formulas. Couch was taught and teaches about value patterns, in his class he explains about 13, he says one does not need to know all of the patterns but knowing 3-4 is good. Couch says all good paintings
