The Jesuit saying is not supported by all the characters in the movie, but only some of them. Many of the characters did not get the life that they had first envisioned in 7 up. Tony Walker was one of them. He wanted to be a jockey do that he even dropped out of high school; to become an apprentice at a racing stable. He competed in a race, but came in third and then dropped out. He realized that racing was not for him. Thus, we can see that the Jesuit saying doesn't fit Tony. Another character’s life doesn't support the saying; Symon Basterfield. In the first clip from 7 up, Symon wanted to be a film star and later wanted to be an electrical engineer. In 21 up, we can see that he is working in the freezer room handling freight near Heathrow.
