The following essay explains how one of the most stressful times in life is pay for higher education when the cost is so high. First, it will explain how the average student usually does not qualify for scholarships; therefore, they have to either acquire grants or loans in order to further their education. Secondly, it will explain how most students that have had to apply for loans will start out life with debt that they cannot afford. Some colleges have grants called need-based or non-need based that students can apply for according to their family income. Finally it explains how the cost of higher education puts a hardship on families that are already living paycheck to paycheck, especially if they have more than one child going to college at one time since the cost has increased 90 percent in the last 10 years.

When applying for grants and scholarships, there is a possibility a few students will not qualify, so they will have to get loans that could leave them in debt. Also, higher education cost being high makes it harder for families with more than one child to have to opportunity to go to college.
