Both families have the philosophy of kids should be kids. They think children should be able to have fun in their kid years. Although they both think kids should be kids, Traci believes children should be taught respect and that parents should be in between strict and laid back. She believes that if parents are too strict children will get out of hand and start keeping secrets and if parents are too laid back children will act spoiled and think they are better than everybody else. Michael on the other hand just hopes his daughter ends up better than he did in his child years. Both families value family and quality time together even though it’s maybe just sitting around watching movies, going out and doing fun things together as a family,
