Characterization can refer to any point in the book where readers are able to gather the personality of Farmer through his interactions with friends and Kidder. Throughout the book we are able to identify how passionate Farmer is about helping others, how little Farmer is self-aware of his own health while he worries about the health of many around the world, and how liked Farmer is by the way he is able to make friends with just about anybody he is introduced to.
