The Tragic Hero of Julius Caesar Aristotle describes a tragic hero as someone who is noble, yet misguided, and their downfall must be due to their own misjudgment. One character in the tragedy of Julius Caesar fits this description much stronger than anyone else, Marcus Brutus. Brutus’ love for his country and the people within it are the driving force that leads him to do what he does, even if it’s at the expense of his own life. These actions are what lead to his inevitable downfall, which is why Brutus is much more of a tragic hero than Caesar himself. The hero must be noble in nature, but imperfect.
