In the novel Average, Trammell is very competitive in everything. But normally he only gives effort to things that he is interested in. Trammell is very smart and a very good athlete, but his work ethic makes it hard for him to be really good at something. Trammell needs to work on being a better leader and his work ethic.
Trammell is in 7th grade and attends San Antonio Academy. I think that he is a major character because he can be both the Protagonist and the Antagonist. I think that there have been a lot of expectations for him and he has not met a lot of them. One expectation was for him to be a leader in the class. I think that he is a leader, but is not leading his classmates in the right direction.
