There are possible options and alternatives for resolving the issue transgender inmates face in person. One of the many possible options to resolve the issue transgender inmates face is developing better relationships with their nurses and healthcare providers. This can be accomplished by providing education to healthcare providers on how to better assess and aid transgender. Nurses who work in correctional settings should also take classes to help them be more empathetic, understanding, and be an advocate for their patients.
