As I was reading the play, I never realized that all of the characters were puppets. I thought that the names of the characters were different like Trekkie the Monster, Kate the Monster, and the Bad News Bears, but I would have not guessed that they were puppets. In my opinion, the artist was trying to portray that you go through a lot in life just to find your purpose. The artist chose to bring this particular work to life because it is something that every human being goes through. You struggle to find your purpose in life, you struggle to figure out what you want to do with the rest of your life. The play had started later than planned because they were having technical difficulties. The costumes had been very well designed, the actors that were holding the puppets were all wearing black. I was a little offended when Christmas Eve’s actor Anna Larson had come out in what you would say to be the stereotypical Asian-American attire, floral print, wedge heels, big hoops earrings, hair tied into a bun, and dangly bracelets. Also when she spoke or sang, I could not understand what she was saying at times, I am not sure if it was a mic issue or if she was just quiet. The set was well designed and painted. If I could change anything, it would be the scene where Princeton and Kate the Monster went on their first date. As I had read the play, I thought the scene would be in a local bar and in my opinion the Scenic Designer, Mark A. Parrott could have had a set where it was a bar, whether it be just a big back drop or just a different set. The lighting confused me a little bit, I could not tell why the lighting had certain colors at certain times. For example, the scene where Kate the Monster was at the Empire State Building, it was a sad scene since Princeton did not show up, and instead of having maybe a blue light shining down, they had a red light. Through out the play I had been laughing like I was at the time when I read the play. I enjoyed the play and if I could
