ADA or Americans with disabilities act is a law that allows disable people have the same opportunity at life that everyone else has. This law is not new even though it might sound like it is ADA has been around since 1990. This has helped people who are in wheelchairs or are using crunches by making public places build ramps. With that there are certain standards that need to be met. The ramps that are put into public places can not have a greater slope than four point eight degrees and it can not go on for more than thirty feet without a rest or turning point. There needs to be at least two ramps built in your establishment and I have found the two cheapest while still safe ramps to build.
Location one: I have found that the angle is four point seven degrees which meets the standards making it safe and it is not a very big ramp making it cheaper. We know that the ramp needs to reach two feet and two inches in height and that the length is twenty-six and a half feet. I used the information given to find the slope of the triangle by first labeling the angle that I need to find with an x which I did to every location. Afterwards I found the formula I needed to use and what I noticed is that none of the triangles have the hypotenuse only the adjacent and the opposite and the only formula that does not need the hypotenuse is tangent. The formula for tangent or tan is opposite over adjacent. Knowing the formula, the next thing I did was plug in the information but since there are both

Tan-1 = 31/384 making the degree 4.6. which meets the requirement for ADA but it is more expensive to build because the length of the sides. Now to find the hypotenuse sin4.6=31/x. divide 31 by sin (4.6) and get 368.5in. convert 368.5 into feet and the final length is 30.7ft which does not meet ADA
