Agamemnon as a leader.

Do you think Agamemnon is a good leader given that he uses insults to encourage his men? It seems to be that his tactics do work and his men do get worked up. Other times he simply praises his men and which helps give them an extra boost of encouragement.

Personally, I don’t think that by insulting your warriors you are going to get them to fight more bravely. I considered Agamemnon as a dictator instead of a leader. He will do anything to obtain power and money. The book showed us a horrible example of his irrational desire for power when he sacrificed his own daughter in order to win the Trojan War. Agamemnon was an arrogant, insensitive leader who was never described as a good warrior and doesn't have the people skills for his role as a king.
