A character that I feel I relate most and has the most redeeming qualities would have to Troy. The reason for this is because Troy is a very straightforward and certain qualities he has I have myself as well. He is like that one friend who tells you the truth of your reality with zero consideration on your feelings he believes the truth first then somewhere along the lines your feelings can come in. When he said “Don’t you try and go through life worrying about if somebody like you or not. You best be making sure they doing right by you.” (Wilson) I feel this type of truth shows out his qualities very much. His lack of care for others is shown when comes to Marci, he plays the victim when it comes to her and so he gains pity and attention. I feel Troy is different from this because he never really wants pity, instead, he knows the mistakes his made and lives with him viewing the consequences unlike Lonesome, Troy even states “I done learned my mistake and learned to do what's right by it.” (Wilson). Although, both characters are very similar in the play Troy is described as “Troy is usually the most talkative and at times he can be crude and almost vulgar…”(Wilson) this is very much like Lonesome as well. Another thing that made these two similar is
