Truett Cathy. Upon hearing that name it places an image in one’s mind. An amazing image. The image of an awe-inspiring man, a hard worker, a success in the business world. One who started from humble beginnings and worked his way up to the top.

Chick-Fil-a is a multi-billion dollar chain of restaurants founded on Christian kindness and hospitality. The only reason it has grown to what it is is because of a man who believed in the power of God and knew that he couldn’t do anything on his own. Matthew 19:26 states, “But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” That verse is found to be true in the life of Truett Cathy and in his businesses.

He had a largely seen testimony in the unsaved world. A huge part of this testimony was closing his restaurants on Sunday. Truett once said, “It’s a silent witness to the Lord when people go into shopping malls, and everyone is bustling, and you see that Chick-fil-A is closed.”(Severson,1). And that certainly is true. Exodus 20:10 says, “ But the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:” We should set aside Sunday as a day of rest and that is what Mr. Cathy did. His restaurants are losing millions of dollars in profit every Sunday yet he continued to holdfast in his faith and not waver (Sonnenberg,1). He was going to stand out, be brave, and show people that we need to have respect for an all-powerful, all-holy
