Any article that adds new information about Trump, especially negative news, receives instant attention and hits on social media and other platforms. The main goal of publishing companies’ is to maximize profits and to keep customer’s interest at a high rate. With the anti-Trump movement in full play, media outlets have higher incentives to post articles that negatively portray Trump. For example, in the Trump Dossier, Trump was allegedly having close connections with Russian operatives, as well as Russian escorts. In the past, Trump has been portrayed as a sexually addicted man, and since the Dossier creates a link to that, it is not a difficult task to see why BuzzFeed published the premature article. As expected, the Dossier brought BuzzFeed great levels of attention, viewings, and profits.
