My parody was based on Gerontion by T.S. Eliot published in 1920. In the poem Gerontion, Eliot is really negative about himself. He describes himself as old and refers himself to unwanted or disgusting things. It seems that he is not happy with what he has now. Not only does he think of him negatively, but also everything around him as well. For example, Eliot says, “My house is a decaying house…” Nothing is ever described in a positive or vibrant way in his poem. This also fits into modernism because it takes about decay and is dark when describing things. Eliot also likes to make many references in his paper as well such as current events or books before or during that time period. For my parody, I decided to mimic his writing style,
