If you’ve ever tasted fried turkeys, you know that they are absolutely delicious. Using a turkey fryer is an excellent and unique way to prepare the Thanksgiving turkey; however, it has the potential to cause fire that destroys buildings and leads to injuries, or even death. 1. Choose a safe location outside your home

Just follow the manufacturer’s instructions as they usually give guidelines on just how much oil should be added to the fryer. If, unfortunately, the instructions do not provide for such, then the best way to go about it is to place the turkey in an empty pot and start adding water until the turkey is covered by about ½ an inch. Remove the bird and mark the water level. After that, make sure the turkey is dry!
Next, dump the water and thoroughly dry the fryer prior adding oil up to the desired level.
6. Watch the weather
Remember that water and oil don’t mix, and causes oil to spill over. Therefore, you must never operate a turkey fryer in the rain or snow. Another important thing to observe is wind—and it is often recommended to operate in wind that blows the heat of the flame away from the propane tank. Also, note that the distance between the propane tank and the fire should be at least 2 feet.
7. Never leave fryers unattended
You’ll definitely need a helping hand as the fryer is a two-person job. It is really dangerous to turn your back on a hot turkey fryer even for a few minutes.
