The political themes in the film are discrimination, equality and Jim Crow laws. The film is about the Tuskegee Airmen, a group of African-American United States Army Air Force servicemen during World War II. A group of black pilots who escorted white bombers over Germany. In 1925 the United States army war college study says that blacks are rationally second rate, by nature subordinate, and weakling in the face of threat which makes them be unsuitable for war (Red Tails, 0:55). African-Americans were discriminated by their color and character, but yet the military needed more men and goes out of their way to locate black men who is intelligent enough to place in pilot training.
